Obituary of Maria Luisa Ronca

Maria Luisa Ronca of Calgary passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Friday, March 19, 2004 at the age of 74 years. Luisa was born in Ancona, Italy and was married to her husband Michele for fifty-seven years. Michele immigrated to Canada in April 1955, sponsoring Luisa and their three children, Nicoletta, Roberto and Patrizia in April of 1956. Luisa embraced her new country while keeping alive her Italian heritage by passing it on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family around which she built a warm, loving, nurturing home. Celebrating special occasions was one of her greatest loves and she shared many wonderful home-cooked meals with her family and friends. Luisa is survived by her husband Michele; her children, Nicoletta (Amedeo) Simonelli, Robert (Margaret) Ronca and Patrizia (Martin) Giuffre; nine grandchildren, Maurizio (Erica), Massimo, Stefania (Kris), Jennifer (Donald), Stephanie (Cory), Matthew, Katherine, Alessia, and Giuliana; three great-grandchildren, Evan, Nicolas and Jaxson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous other extended family members both in Italy and Canada. She was predeceased by her parents, Nicola and Nadia Capriccioni. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. with the Very Rev. Gregory Coupal, V.F., Presider.
