Obituary of Joy Louise Prather

Joy Louise Prather (nee Walper), beloved wife of Roy Prather of Calgary, passed away at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the age of 78 years, after a courageous battle with scleroderma. Joy was born on April 10, 1925 in Laura, SK. She married Walter “Roy” Prather on July 7, 1956. Joy was always a willing worker in the communities where she lived, especially Horizon Village. A loving grandmother, she was always eager to lend a hand or a listening ear. Visits to Grandma and Auntie Joy were always highlights. “A devoted mother and grandmother, our memories we will treasure in our hearts.” Besides her loving husband Roy, Joy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gary Dillabaugh of Littleton, CO, and their children Brent, Lisa and Trevor; and son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Kathy of Calgary and their son Wyatt. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. To forward condolences go to www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
