Obituary of William F.C. Parsons

William (Bill) F. C. Parsons, beloved husband of Lynda of Calgary, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2004 at the age of 65 years. Bill was born on January 26, 1939 in Calgary. He was the past Director and active member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen. Bill was recognized by his peers as a leader in oil and gas surface land and Aboriginal issues. He chaired and was a member of numerous industry committees in these areas. Bill’s career started as a Roughneck in the late 1950’s after a two-year stint with the Bank of Montreal. He resumed his career in oil and gas as a Scout with Pacific Petroleum and then to Pacific Petroleum’s Land Department. Bill’s career took him to his own land consulting company in the 1970’s, and then as an employee with Mobil Oil G.C., Mobil Oil, Texaco, Chevron and lately as a Consultant with Devon Canada. He took great pride in being a descendant of the Mayflower Society and was the current Regent. Besides his loving wife, Bill is also survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, and one daughter and son-in-law, Douglas (Angela) Parsons, Jeffrey (Joanne Rostie) Parsons, all of Calgary; Nicole Mundy (Clarke Gillies) of Edmonton, and Webster Mundy (Tracy Devitt) of Calgary; five grandchildren Brittany, Kairn, Darian, Morgan and Mark; sisters and brothers-in-law Ann (Jim) Murphy of Calgary, and Barbara (Rod) Stone of Maidenhead, Berkshire, England. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. with the Rev. Michael Birch officiating.
