Obituary of Donald Ralph Ortt

Donald Ralph Ortt, beloved husband of Candace Ortt of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the age of 59 years. Don was born on May 14, 1944 in Grenfell, SK, where he grew up. He and Candace were married in 1965, and he joined the military the same year. In 1967, they left Canada while Don served in Germany. They returned to Canada in 1971, and were stationed throughout Western Canada until his retirement in 1989. Don was a very proud father, taking a special interest in both of his son’s activities, whether it was driving them to hockey practice and games, or to motocross events. Don always encouraged his sons in their endeavours. He also enjoyed traveling the open road on his Harley. Besides his loving wife Candace; Don will be remembered as father to his sons and daughter-in-law and “Bunka” to his grandchildren; Jason and Kathy and their children, Braeden, Eila and Peyton; and Jeremy and his children, Riley and Cody. He is also survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Bob Ward, and Lana and Wally Gingras, as well as numerous other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ella and Carl.
