Obituary of Pauline Ann Potts

Pauline Ann Potts (nee Darling), beloved wife of Dr. Donald A. Potts of Calgary, passed away at the Agape Hospice on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the age of 74 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Pauline was born October 14, 1929 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England. She met Donald in London in 1947 and they were married in September 1951. Donald immigrated to Calgary in 1958 and Pauline followed in 1959 with their children. She was employed with Cal-Draft for seven years and owned and operated the Gallery of Fine Arts from 1977 to 1990. She was a member of the Canadian Women’s Club and Samaritan’s Club and a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels and the Cancer Society. Pauline was an avid golfer, badminton and tennis player and also enjoyed playing bridge. Besides her loving husband Donald, Pauline is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Hugo and Lisa and their children, Evan, Owen and Kate, of Calgary, and Matthew and Brenda and their children, Meaghan and Emily, of Bearspaw. She was predeceased by her eldest son Simon in 1985. She is also survived by two sisters, Eileen Darling of West Vancouver, and Norah (Gerard) JeromÚ of Spa, Belgium; a brother Gerald (Anne) Darling of Scarborough, Yorkshire, England; a nephew Michael Smith; two nieces, Karen Metcalf and Gillian Metcalf; and a brother-in-law Maurice Potts all of England. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, March14, 2004 from 2:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
