Obituary of Alis Randy Way

Alis Randy Way, beloved wife of William (Bill) Shanks of Calgary, passed away at the Sarcee Hospice on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the age of 54 years after a battle with a brain tumour. Alis was a member of both the Calgary and the Royal scottish country dance societies and will be missed by the other members. She is survived by her brother Kim MacDonald of Penticton, BC; niece Cassie MacDonald of Coquitlam, BC; a stepson and his wife, Cameron and Lee Shanks of Malahat, BC; a stepdaughter Kelly Shanks of Toronto, ON; as well as aunts and cousins in Alberta, Manitoba and Arizona. Alis was predeceased by her parents, Eldon (Al) and Isobel Way of Olds, AB. A Celebration of Alis’s life will be held in The Summit Room, 6868 Sierra Morena Blvd. S.W. on Saturday, March 20, 2004 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., to which all friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2 or to the Calgary Health Trust – Carewest: Sarcee Hospice, 10101 Southport Road SW, Calgary, AB T2W 3N2 The family wishes to express their thanks to the many friends who supported Alis during her illness and to the staff of the Foothills Medical Centre, the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, and Sarcee Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care she received.
