Obituary of Hilda Maier

Hilda Maier (nee Brost) of Calgary passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Chinook Care Centre on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the age of 96 years. Hilda was born to homesteading parents on October 11, 1907 at Walsh, AB and resided in Calgary since 1935. Of special joy to Mother was time spent at her farm at Torrington, her family and until a few years ago, bowling with the Astronauts Bowling League. She was especially proud of being named the CFCN Athlete of the Week several years ago. Hilda is remembered by her son Don and wife Patricia, sister Lydia, grandchildren, Barbara, Colin and wife Sonya, and great-grandson Xavier. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Hilda was predeceased by her husband of fifty-nine years, Emil in 1994.
