Obituary of Phyllis Boston

Phyllis Ethyle Boston (nee Brady) of Calgary passed away at the Rosedale Hospice on Sunday, February 29 2004, after a brave and difficult struggle against cancer. Phyllis was born in Stoughton, SK on June 6, 1918 and grew up there and in Regina. She married Gilbert (Bert) on September 4, 1941 and the couple resided in Saskatoon, Edmonton and Red Deer until his death on December 4, 1953. Phyllis remained in Red Deer until 1997 when she moved to Calgary to be closer to her family. She was a long-time employee of the Red Deer General Hospital and a member of the congregation of St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Phyllis is survived by her children, Jane, Douglas Gilbert (Eileen), Kathleen (Jerry) Williscroft, all of Calgary and Karen Zolmer of Beiseker, AB; her grandchildren, James (Shelley) and Amy (Doug Bowlby) Carruthers, Angela (Rick James), Natalie (Todd BarrÚ), and Christopher (Marilyn Spaude) Boston, Leah (Chad Auremenko) and Melissa Williscroft, and Ryan and Steven Zolmer; and her great-grandchildren, William Carruthers and Hannah BarrÚ. She is also survived by a sister Mary Harker, nieces and a nephew. Fondly remembered, Phyllis will be sorely missed as the inspiration and heart of her family. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation and thanks to the angels of the Rosedale Hospice. Following cremation a Family Graveside Service will be held at the Red Deer Cemetery.
