Obituary of Betty Joan Amery

Betty Joan Amery, beloved wife of Bill Amery, passed away peacefully at the Sarcee Care West Centre on Sunday, February 29, 2004 after a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) at the age of 69 years. Betty and her husband Bill farmed and raised their children in the Madden district west of Crossfield until their retirement to Airdrie and then to Calgary. She was a R.N., volunteer and a caring person who served in several places in Canada and with the V.O.N. in Calgary as well as the Mount View Health Unit. Betty was an avid golfer, bridge player and loved to travel. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends Besides her loving husband Bill, Betty is survived by her daughter Erica of Calgary, AB; and her son Richard of Kenora, ON. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother-in-law Shirley Mutchler, and Margaret and Ernie Ormon, all of Calgary, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Foothills Alliance Church (333 Edgepark Blvd. N.W.) on Friday, March 5, 2004 at 1:00 P.M.
