Obituary of Catherine Hinckley

Catherine Nelsonia Hinckley (nee Bishop, nee Wight) of Calgary passed away at the Beverley Care Centre (Lake Midnapore) on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at the age of 85 years. Catherine was born in Calgary and raised in Carseland on the family farm. She later moved to Calgary to attend the Holy Cross Hospital Training School for Nurses. Catherine dedicated many years of valued RN skills at the Holy Cross Hospital. Her many accomplishments consisted of assisting in setting up the Diabetic Association in Canada, promoting the United Way, and an active organizer of the Alumni of the Holy Cross Hospital, as well as medical associated activities related to the Holy Cross. Catherine is remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Riley and Penny Wight of Calgary, their children Francis and Cherie; daughter and son-in-law Mary Ann and Peter Hetfleis, their children April and Paul; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands Emmett Wight and Bill Hinckley; brothers Edward and Richard Bishop; and parents Riley and Rachel Bishop. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, February 23, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. with the Very Rev. Gregory Coupal V.F., Presider.
