Obituary of Jocelyn Lawson Savage

Mrs. Jocelyn Lawson Savage of Calgary passed away at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice on Sunday, February 8, 2004. Jocelyn was born and educated in Winnipeg, graduating from the University of Manitoba with an Associate in Music and a Bachelor of Arts. She taught music for many years in Winnipeg and Calgary. Jocelyn was a member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association and an Affiliate Teacher of the Royal Conservatory of Music. Jocelyn was the dear mother and mother-in-law of Andrew and Audra Savage, Susan Savage and Gus van Helden, and Janet and Sean Kearns, all of Calgary. Jocelyn was also the dear grandmother of Karissa, Eric, Mikylla and Danae Savage; Darcy, Georgeanne and Jonah van Helden; and Kait, Josh and Jake Kearns. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ian and Donna Plant of Winnipeg and numerous relatives in Canada and England. A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Nativity Anglican Church (12707 Bonaventure Drive S.E.), where Jocelyn was a choir member for many years, on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. with the Reverend Jagdutt Singh officiating.
