Obituary of Daniel Palmer

Daniel (Dan) Palmer, beloved husband of sixty-three years of Mrs. Katherine (Bobbie) Palmer of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Friday, February 6, 2004 at the age of 93 years. Dan was born on July 10, 1910 in Calgary. He worked hard for a number of Calgary firms from a box factory to Eaton’s. He loved to travel, bowl and play the harmonica. Dan was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bridgeland. He was a staunch supporter of the United Church (North Hill, now Wild Rose United) and for over fifty years was a member of Northminster United Church, singing in the choir and serving both on the Board of Session and as a Volunteer Custodian. A dedicated family man, his guidance will be missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, Curt and Christl of Calgary, Ralph and Gail of Whitehorse, and Blake and Nance of Calgary; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Lois, brother Fred Poffenroth and sister Maria Storey. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. with the Rev.
