Obituary of Barbara Niznik

It is with great sadness that we announce that our beloved mother Barbara Niznik slipped away peacefully at the Forest Grove Care Centre on Monday, February 2, 2004 at the age of 78 years. Barbara was born on December 13, 1925 in Zaporozhe, District of Ukrainian, USSR. She immigrated to Canada on December 24, 1949 and resided in Irricana and Calgary. Barbara will always be remembered for her amazing strength through the difficult life she endured and for her devotion to her family. She was very content with very little. Although Barbara will be missed by those who are left behind, they rejoice that she is now at peace with her Lord and Saviour. Barbara is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Jadwiga and Allan Harbour; seven sons and three daughters-in-law, Alexander and Kathy Kasatkin, Henry and Darleen, Arthur, Edmund and Judy, Robert, David, and Alexander Alan Niznik; ten grandchildren, Katherine and Kristina Kasatkin, Kimberlee Wheatley, Sean (Crystal) Niznik, Robin (Nathan) Woodruff, Pamela (Adam) Tondevold, Adam, Benjamin, Brian and Alexander Joel Niznik; as well as five great-grandchildren, Nakai Penny, Bridget and Noah Wheatley, Hazel Niznik and Thomas Woodruff. She was predeceased by her youngest daughter Ramona (Alan) McKinnon. In keeping with Barbara’s wishes there will not be a Funeral Service, she wanted to go quietly.
