Obituary of Bert Alan Anderson

Too Loved To Be Forgotten Bert Anderson, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Monday, February 2, 2004 at the age of 51 years after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Bert is deeply missed by Nancy, his loving wife and best friend of thirty-one years, sons Ashley and Shane; his siblings and their families, Aaron (Barb) Anderson, John Anderson, Carl (Sharon) Anderson, Angela (Bernie) Jansen; mother and father-in-law Bill and Vera Lynn; in-laws Bruce (Ann) Lynn, Neila (Clarence) Knapp, and Bill Lynn (Jr.), Brent (Emelia) Lynn, Tara Vandertoorn the daughter he never had and their families and many friends. Bert was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Marguerite Anderson. Originally from Saskatchewan, Bert settled in Calgary in 1969, married Nancy in 1972, and became a Journeyman Carpenter in 1978. Bert was instrumental in creating many of the familiar landmarks that make up the Calgary skyline, such as the Nova Building, the Saddledome, the Petro-Canada towers, and the Performing Arts Centre. Bert is remembered for his kindness, generosity, sparkling personality, sense of humour, outgoing nature, and having something positive to say about all those he knew. Trips to Las Vegas and waterskiing on the lake are favourite memories shared by many.
