Obituary of Albert Herbert Rothery

Albert Herbert Rothery of Calgary passed away quietly at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the age of 79 years, surrounded by the love of his family. Al was born on October 14, 1924 in Vermilion, AB and served in WWII overseas. He spent his life on the road as a truck driver and bus driver. Al was always a sports enthusiast, coaching and volunteering in his earlier years. He enjoyed the closeness and love of his family and tried to stay close with as many as he could. Al will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by three daughters and four sons, Donna Haacke of Powell River, BC, Barbara MacKinnon of Armstrong, BC, Grahame (Roxanne) Rothery, Adrian (Gloria) Rothery, Ian (Josie) Rothery, Jennifer Rothery, all of Calgary, and Terry (Ann) Rothery of Westerose, AB; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Al is also survived by two brothers, David and Roy Rothery. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanore and daughter Doris as well as a brother Clarence (Jim). Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North), on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at 3:00 P.M.
