Obituary of Brigadier Alma Crotty

Brigadier Alma Crotty of Calgary passed on to her eternal reward on Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the age of 92 years after a brief illness. Brigadier Crotty served in the Western Territory of the Salvation Army in the United States from 1940 to 1972 when she retired to Burnaby, BC, where she worked for the Salvation Army for about ten years. Three years ago she moved to Calgary to be closer to her special families. She leaves to mourn two nieces, Anne Wells of Sydney, BC and Carmen Raymond of Peterborough, ON; a nephew William Harrington of Sturgeon Heights, AB; numerous great-nieces and nephews; many great-great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Her special families will also miss her, Major Ray and Elsie Van Schaick and family, Dave and Ruth Wylie and family, all of Calgary; and her long time friend Winifrede Green of Toronto, ON. Funeral Services will be held at the Glenmore Temple of the Salvation Army (921 – 68 Avenue S.W.) on Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. To forward condolences go to www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
