Obituary of Douglas Wayne Koetke

Douglas Wayne Koetke, beloved husband of Ellen Koetke of Calgary, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, January 19, 2004 after courageously fighting Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 62 years. Douglas was born on February 21, 1941 in Edmonton, AB. Doug had been in the music business most of his working life. His love of life included skiing, golfing and travel. Besides his loving wife Ellen, Douglas is also survived by his eldest brother Gerald of Edmonton, AB; his twin brother and sister-in-law Donald (Diane) of St. Pierre Jolys, MB; and a sister Doris McHarg of Vernon, BC. He is also survived by three stepsons and their wives, Jens and Julie Buehner, Martin and Tina Buehner, Tim and Trisha Buehner; his wife’s mother Elly Thűrk of Germany; four nephews, two nieces and several cousins, along with many family and friends. Douglas was predeceased by his mother Thora Porter and his father Frederick Koetke. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 3:00 P.M.
