Obituary of Edward DesJardins

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edward (Ted) DesJardins, beloved husband of Rose DesJardins of Calgary. Ted passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at home, on Monday, January 19, 2004 at the age of 66 years. Ted was born June 9, 1937 in Ottawa, ON to Margaret and Earl DesJardins. He was a true humanitarian and was involved in numerous volunteer activities including the Calgary Northeast Eye-Opener Lions Club since the 1970’s. He was also a member and past president of the Canadian Citizenship Federation. Ted was involved with the Calgary Multicultural Centre as well as various City of Calgary functions and events. He was also a Red Cross Blood Donor since 1970. Ted worked for many years as a Realtor, Canadian citizenship Judge and served on the Calgary Housing Authority for over ten years. Ted will be dearly missed by his wife of forty-one years Rose; his four children, Mike, Tammy (Jim), Debbie (Peter), and Cara; three grandchildren, Ashley, Tyson and Colyn. He is also survived by brother Bud DesJardins; sister Pam (John) Meunier; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and in-laws. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Thursday, January 22, 2004 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 2:00 P.M.
