Obituary of James Shearer Thomson

James (Jim) Shearer Thomson, beloved husband of Anne Thomson of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy illness at the Rockyview General Hospital on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at the age of 91 years. He was born on July 20, 1912 in Banfshire, Scotland to William and Annie Thomson. Jim immigrated to Canada in 1930 where he worked in several Central and Southern Alberta areas before retiring to Calgary. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of forty years, Anne; his four sons, Lyle (Gerry) Thomson of Carstairs, John (Margaret) Thomson of Spruce Grove, Allan Thomson of Drayton Valley, and Bill (Bev) Thomson of Red Deer; his two stepchildren, Lynne (Gerald) Sansome of Calgary and Keith (Deedi) Carmichael of Edmonton; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister Agnus Milne of Scotland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents and ten brothers and sisters.
