Obituary of Flora Dilello

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Flora Di Lello (nee Torriero) Flora passed away at the Bethany Care Centre surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 8, 2004 at the age of 94 years. Flora was born on April 10, 1909 in Lanciano, Italy. She immigrated with her family to Toronto in 1960, later coming to Calgary in 1976. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Flora is survived by children, son, Michele and daughter-in-law Anna Maria; son, Nicola and daughter-in-law Bruna; daughter, Maria and sons-in-law, Michele Di Matteo, daughter; Paola and son-in-law, Vince Buonomo, son, Guerino, son, Gino and daughter-in-law Nancy ; sixteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Flora was predeceased by her husband Antonio Di Lello; her infant son; her brothers, Paolo and Domenico; and her sister Giovina. “The two greatest gifts she gave us are her faith in God and the love of family. This is her legacy, and we will continue it.” Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North), on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Bill Corcoran, Presider.
