Obituary of Mario Ciofani

Mario Ciofani of Calgary passed away at the Brentwood Nursing Home, after a long illness with Alzheimers, on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at the age of 80 years. Mario was born in Cerchio L’Aquila, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1952. He worked hard as a laborer in Banff and Calgary. Besides his loving wife Elena, Mario is survived by two stepchildren, Eliseo (Bethli) D’Altorio and Delia (Matthew) Stayner; and his grandchildren, Evan, Aaron, Lindsay, Angela, and Carla. He is also survived by two sisters, Clara and Ida both of Italy; as well as nieces, nephews and friends in Italy, Calgary and the United States. Mario was predeceased by his parents, Lucia and Mariano and his brother Dante. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells, (2720 Centre Street North), on Monday, January 12, 2004 between 4:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. Interment to follow in Cerchio, Italy.
