Obituary of Maria Celeste Eremita

Maria Celeste Eremita of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at the age of 88 years. Maria was born on September 3, 1915 in Bonefro, Campobasso, Italy. Our beloved Mother and Nonna, Maria and three of her children immigrated to Canada in April, 1963 to join her husband Guiseppe. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Maria is survived by her family: Michele and Rosaria Eremita of Italy, Regina and Guido Profeta, Nicola and Nicoletta Eremita, and Francesco Eremita; nine grandchildren, Vince Profeta, Nick (Heather) Profeta, David (Cinzia) Eremita, Michael Eremita, and Adam Eremita, all of Calgary, Rita (Rick) Bolen of Medicine Hat, Maria Lucia Eremita, Romita (Antonio) Spallone and Guiseppe Eremita, all of Italy; and six great-grandchildren, Stephen, Lorenzo, Nicholas, Michele, Marc, and Ella. She is also survived by her sisters and brother, Virginia Vaccaro of Italy, Antonietta Vaccaro of Calgary, Carmela Vileno of France, and Micheleantonio Vaccaro of Italy as well as numerous nieces and nephews. You will be forever in our hearts. Maria was predeceased by her husband Guiseppe in 1977, her daughter Lucia Eremita in 1955 and her sister Lucia Vaccaro in 1986. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North), on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Of Grace Italian & English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Monday, January 12, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev.
