Obituary of Edward Hughes

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ted Hughes. Ted passed away peacefully at home in Rocky Mountain House on Thursday, January 1, 2004 at the age of 81 years. Ted enjoyed a long and successful career with Calgary Transit, retiring in 1981. Ted will be greatly missed by his long time companion Evelyn Newall; his two daughters, Judi (Bob) Tetley of Rocky Mountain House, and Cheryl (Tony) Peressini. He leaves behind step-children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Bill (Charlotte) Hughes of Edmonton, and Jim (Lynn) Hughes of Calgary; and one sister Hannah (Jack) Browning of Taber. He was dearly loved by all. A private family service will be held. A celebration of Ted’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 285, 9202 Horton Road S.W., Calgary on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 1:00 P.M.
