Obituary of Duncan Williamson Hunter

Duncan Williamson of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills General Hospital on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the age of 81 years. Duncan was born on April 7, 1922, in Glasgow, Scotland, and raised there and Toronto. Duncan was employed with the Toronto Daily Star before WW II, and joined the R.C.A.F. in 1939 and served until 1945. Following the war he was employed with Imperial Oil in Redwater, Devon, Dawson Creek, Toronto and Calgary until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Willow Park Golf and Country Club. Duncan is survived by two brothers, George of Toronto, ON, and Art (Catharine) of Napanee, ON; nieces, Nancy (Jeff) Fallon of Australia, Laura (Brett) Hunter of Toronto ON, Christine Hunter of Victoria BC, a nephew, Gordon (Sharlene) Hunter of Kingston ON, nieces, Jeannie Hunter of Ottawa ON, Judy Rivers and Margaret of Toronto ON; and all his grand-nieces and grand nephews; he is also survived by his sister in-law Helen Mears, and dear friends, Flora Rankin, and Bob and Reta Grieve all of Calgary. Duncan was predeceased by his wife Pauline; parents Arthur and Isabella Hunter; and sister Mary Rivers.
