Obituary of Stacy Duncan Hartzler

Stacy Duncan Hartzler, beloved husband of Tracy of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at the age of 34 years, after a very courageous battle with cancer. Stacy was born in Calgary and raised in Carstairs, AB. Stacy was a very energetic, outgoing young man with many passions; the most important being his daughter Lakeyn, mountain biking in the mountains and the bike paths in the city, and flying helicopters. Recently Stacy had found his true calling and was working towards completion of his helicopter pilot’s licence. Stacy is also survived by his beloved daughter and best friend Lakeyn; his parents Curtis and Ellen Hartzler of Calgary; a brother Mark (Tracey) of Carstairs, AB, and their children Alicia and Abigail; a sister Robyn (Chris Rousell) of Calgary, and their daughter Brooklyn. He is also survived by his grandparents Helen and Duncan Phyper of Calgary; and grandmother Velma Hartzler of Hydro, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at Springbank Community Church, just south of the entrance to Calaway Park (Telephone: (403) 242-3431), on Monday, January 5, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Warren Wiebe officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Palliative Care nurse Irene Jenkinson, and all the nurses that took care of Stacy, and also Homecare worker Marg Stuart for her exceptional care and compassion.
