Obituary of Giovanni Catena

Giovanni (John) Catena of Calgary passed away suddenly but peacefully in his sleep, on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at the age of 81 years. He will be dearly missed by his two daughters, Geri and her husband Carmine Alato and Rita Small; his son Tony and his wife Susan Catena; and ten grandchildren, Debbie (Jay), Kristin, James, Jennifer, Dawn, Candice (Angelo), John, Giordana, Jonathon, and Alex. He will also be remembered by his brother Mario Catena and sister-in-law Antonietta; nephews, Tony and his wife Connie Musto and Mike Catena; nieces, Antonia Catena and Tina Lobello, as well as numerous friends and family in Italy and England. John was predeceased by his wife Rosa Catena in 1996 and his sons, Carmine and Mike. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel, (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Sunday, January 4, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, January 5, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. with the Very Rev. Gregory Coupal, V.F., Presider.
