Obituary of Elizabeth Ann LOVE

October 20, 1947– Winnipeg, Manitoba September 17, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Elizabeth Love of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the age of 71 years. Elizabeth was born in Winnipeg, MB on October 20, 1947 to Robert and Alice Love. She grew up in Norwood (St. Boniface) where she had wonderful memories of time spent with her baby-boomer friends, winters skating outdoors, and summers spent at the cottage near Winnipeg Beach on Lake Winnipeg. After graduating from grade twelve she completed her RT in Cytology (cancer detection) in 1967 from St. Boniface hospital. She married Denis Wall in 1968 and they had two children, Jason and Shannon. She was always grateful that she was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young. Her family moved to Calgary in 1976. Returning to work in 1983, she worked in various Cytology labs as well as ten years at the old Children’s Hospital. With a need to better herself Elizabeth took many courses at Mount Royal College and Continuing Ed. She also believed in giving back and volunteered throughout her life with Special Olympics, Roper Hull Homes and more. She completed her Personal Caregiver Certificate and spent many years caring for people in their homes. She was a certified ESL teacher with CCIS, encouraging and teaching new senior immigrants, thoroughly enjoying their company. Later in life, she met Carl, the love of her life, with whom she spent ten wonderful years with. Elizabeth had a passion for learning, her cats and music, but her children were her greatest joy. Elizabeth is survived by her children Jason (Olivia) Wall and Shannon (Pete) Baker. She believed upon her passing that she would be reunited with her parents, her many aunts and uncles, Carl and her best friend Ann. At Elizabeth’s request there will be no memorial service.
