Obituary of Verna Alexandra Haworth

Verna Alexandra Haworth of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at the age of 98 years. Verna was the beloved wife of the late Dr. David C. Haworth and mother of two daughters, Carole (Don) Peteherych and Laurie Mader; five grandchildren, David Peteherych (Danielle Bohemier), Kathy (Marty) Boulanger, Debra (David) Putnam, Susan Mader (Sean Nixon), Marilyn (Paul) Johnson; and five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Hannah and Jill Putnam, and Taylor Ann and Andrew Johnson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Verna was predeceased by her husband David and her son-in-law Stan Mader. Verna was born in County Asphodel, ON June 5, 1905 and moved west with her parents, Andrew and Laura Graham, at an early age. She was a beautiful, gentle lady, a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a caring friend. A Memorial Service to celebrate Verna’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Friday, January 30, 2004 at 2:30 P.M.
