Obituary of Shirley Bernice Anderson

Shirley Bernice Anderson of Calgary, beloved wife of sixty-one years of Walter Fay, passed away in California on Monday, December 22, 2003 at the age of 82 years. Shirley was born on July 21, 1921 in Moose Jaw, SK. After her family arrived in Calgary in 1929, she attended school in Calgary and later attended the University of Alberta where she met Fay. Shirley graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1942, and married Fay on December 5 of that year. Always active in the community, Shirley was a Past President of the Samaritan Club and the Gyrette Club. She was a member of the Glencoe Club, Calgary Golf and Country Club and Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert, CA. An avid golfer, Shirley was the Junior Golf Representative for the Canadian Ladies Golf Association of Alberta. Besides her loving husband, Shirley is remembered by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara and Tom Whitehead of Calgary and Lois Anderson of Calgary; and two grandchildren, Alfred Whitehead of Toronto, ON and Laura Whitehead of Calgary.
