Obituary of Earl Duxbury

Earl D. Duxbury, of Calgary, passed away at the Beverly Centre on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at the age of 84 years. Earl was born on November 8, 1919 in Moose Jaw, SK. He served overseas during WWII with the Calgary Highlanders and was an Infantry Stretcher Bearer. Following his return, he married Frances Pond in Calgary in 1946 and raised their family here. Earl enjoyed trap shooting and was an honourary life member of various gun clubs in Alberta. He also enjoyed various sporting events. Earl was Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #102. Earl is survived by his family Tony West of London, England, Marilyn Edwards of Edmonton, AB, Patricia and Alfred Hauck of Redcliff, AB, Susan Duxbury and Garry Filpula, Bonnie and Allan Thiele, Donald Duxbury, and Robert Duxbury, all of Calgary, AB; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Rev. William Grier of Three Hills, AB. Earl was predeceased by his wife Frances in 1998, an infant son David and an infant granddaughter Dawn. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North), on Monday, December 22, 2003 at 2:30 P.M. with his brother-in-law the Rev.
