Obituary of Mary Violet Philp

Mary Philp, beloved wife of Norman Philp of Calgary, passed away at the Beverley Centre Lake Midnapore on Monday, December 15, 2003 at the age of 88 years. Mary was born in South Woodrow, SK on June 26, 1915. Mary was married to Norm Philp on September 23, 1936, in McCord, SK. They lived in Glentworth and Yellow Grass SK until they moved to Calgary in September 1996. Mary was Norman’s “co-pilot”. She enjoyed card games and shuffleboard; she loved to compete, usually winning the game. Besides her loving husband, Mary is survived by her daughter and son in-law Doreen and Duane Williams of Calgary; her grandchildren; sister Beulah Anderson of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Betsy Houston; and two brothers, Carl and Lorne Houston. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.), on Friday, December 19, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. with Chaplain Carol Barwick officiating.
