Obituary of Florence Graham Paston

Florence (Teddy) Graham Paston of Calgary, passed away in peace, surrounded by her loving family at the Cedars Villa on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the age of 92 years. Teddy was born in Calgary at the Calgary General Hospital in 1911. Her life took an important turn in 1922 when her family moved to Nordegg, AB. Her love for the mountains which endured throughout her lifetime and now that of her children, was born during that period. She left Nordegg in 1930 and followed her sister Ethel into the school of nursing at the Calgary General Hospital. Teddy graduated with pride in 1934 and enjoyed a passionate nursing career until her retirement. She married Sidney Herbert Paston in 1940 and they had two children Bob and Mary. Teddy’s happiest days were spent in nature with family and friends. She loved to travel and was an active member of the Second Sixties hiking club. Teddy lived her life with enthusiasm, strong endurance and a sharp wit. She will be remembered with joy and respect. Teddy will be forever missed by her son and daughter-in-law Bob and Olga; daughter and son-in-law Mary (Merrill); three grandsons Michael (Darlene), Jay (Dana) and Kyle. She was thrilled to have been exceptionally blessed with two great-grandchildren Isaac and Isabelle. Her nephew Laurie Hodson (Gail), and her niece Bernie Zubeck, and their children are also left to mourn the loss of their “Crazy Aunt” Teddy. Teddy was predeceased by her husband Sid Paston, father John Frederick Hepburn, mother and step father Mary and Herb Clark, sister Ethel Hodson, brother Jack Hepburn, grand niece Elaine Zubeck and nephew Jack Hepburn. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North), on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 2:30 P.M.
