Obituary of A. Irene Puzianowski

A. Irene Puzianowski, formerly of The Renoir, passed away at Carewest Glenmore Park on Monday, November 24, 2003 at the age of 89 years. Irene was born January 13, 1914 in Poland and came to Canada in 1928, settling in Manitoba and later in Drumheller, where she met and married her late husband Tony and raised their family of six children. The family moved to Calgary in 1952. Irene was a member of the Polish Combatants Association, Polish Seniors, Polish Choir, member and past volunteer of the Kerby Centre. She especially loved flowers and her garden was always a people-stopper. Irene was a member of the Calgary Horticultural Society and won many ribbons and trophies for her blooms. Irene is remembered by one son and five daughters, Walter (Wally) and Penny Puzanoski; Julie and Joe Parsons; Patricia Leece; Edwardine and Richard Rappel; Gloria and Jim Munro; Antoinette Munro and partner Phil DeVulder; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony (Tony) in 1981 and a son-in-law Stan Leece in 2000. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel, (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Thursday, November 27, 2003, at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen Of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W.) on Friday, November 28, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Stanslaw Poszwa S.Ch, Presider.
