Obituary of John RUMORA

June, 4, 1926 – Zagreb, Croatia May, 13, 2017 – Heritage Pointe, Alberta It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father and friend, John Rumora. John set an example of living life to the fullest every single day of his 90 years. His glass was always half full! John’s passion for travel and a sunny beach took him to many tropical destinations. Even after returning from his most recent adventure this past April, John was already planning his next sunny destination for this November. John’s zest for travel began early during his work in the oil & gas industry; working in such places as Egypt, Ethiopia, South Yemen, Northern Canada and throughout Alberta. John will be remembered by his loving daughter Lydia Rumora (Jack Stricharuk), John’s extended family members in Croatia, Slovenia, and Germany, Angjela and Toni Varga, Marina and Dado Kasun, Ana, Domagoj and little Leon Katicic, Boris Zepek, Marijan Zepek and many friends whom he met during his travels. John is predeceased by his wife of 60 years Hermina, mother Adolfina, Father Ivo, brothers Daniel and Boris. John’s infectious smile and offer of a glass of fine wine will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him during his many travels and wonderful life. It was John’s wish that his family celebrate his life privately at a later date. We will miss him dearly, as will his loving companion Tyra. John’s family would like to thank Dr. Matt Grabove and his team for their extremely professional and respectful care of John at the South Calgary Health Campus during the final hours of his journey. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
