Obituary of Lily Isabella Jean HALVORSON

April 17, 1930 – Pangman, Saskatchewan May 4, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Lily Halvorson, beloved wife of Mervin Halvorson, passed away on May 4, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Lily was a loving mother to Karen Leppard (Tom) and Brent Halvorson, and a devoted grandmother to Christine Leppard (Michael Hoblak), Jason Leppard, Jenna Halvorson, Steven Halvorson, and great-grandson Benjamin Hoblak. Eldest daughter of Cameron and Christina Shearer, Lily was predeceased by two siblings, an infant brother and John Shearer. She is survived by her sisters Ruby Hides (Jack), Agnes Squire (Laurie), and sister-in-law Yolande Shearer. Lily had a large extended family and circle of friends, too many to list, and Lily loved them all. She was an avid curler, golfer, and bridge player, a long-time member of Foothills Lutheran Church, the Parkdale Nifty Fifties, and a five-decade volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Selfless, loving, and joyful, Lily was kind and considerate to all. She was deeply loved by many and will be missed. Special thanks to Unit 32 Foothills Hospital who made her passing gentle.
