Obituary of Sylvia HEATER

December 14, 1936 – Calgary, Alberta September 13, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Sylvia Magna Heater (nee Lauritsen) passed away in the early hours of Friday, September 13, 2019 at the age of 82 years. She was born on December 14, 1936 in Calgary to Alfred Lauritsen and Meta Andersen Lauritsen. Her husband, Reuben, cared for her until the end. Sylvia and Reuben met while working at Imperial Oil and were married for fifty-seven years. After marrying, Sylvia and Reuben moved to Acadia, where she became an active member of her community association. Throughout her life, Sylvia loved skiing, golf, and bowling. Her children remember spending the summers camping at the lake and big family dinners. Mom, or Gaga, always showed her love for her children and grandchildren with Danish cooking and hand-knitting. Besides her loving husband, Reuben Heater, she will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Glen Heater, and Stephanie (Trent) Bradley; six grandchildren, Chris, Tabitha, Tiffany, Austin, Madison and Delaney; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Rose (Jim) Palmer and brother Roy (Diane) Lauritsen. Sylvia was predeceased by her daughter Valerie (Andy) Berns five years ago. As per Sylvia’s wishes no funeral will be held; however, a memorial celebration will be organized at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
