Obituary of Nancy Lee THOMPSON

November 25, 1953 – Edmonton, Alberta September 5, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Nancy Thompson, beloved wife of Don Thompson, of Calgary, AB passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the age of 65 years. Nancy was born in Edmonton to Anson and Eileen (Miller) Boyle. She graduated from Ross Sheppard High School and then attended NAIT in the biological sciences program. Nancy married the love of her life, Don, on June 28, 1975 and they moved to Slave Lake for the first eight years of their marriage. While there Nancy worked in a dental office and they had their first daughter Kimberley. They then settled down in Calgary where they had their second daughter Robyn. Nancy worked at Heritage Park Historical Village for many years before going back to school to become an ESL teacher’s aide. Nancy was a loving wife and mother who always put her family first. She loved cross-country skiing, bike riding, history and travelling, always making new friends wherever she would go. She always loved to make people laugh and had a great sense of humour. Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Don; daughters, Kim (Paul) Cooper, Robyn (Kyle) Steinbrenner; and grandchildren Lucas, Ally, Nicholas and William; her parents, Anson and Eileen Boyle; and siblings, Susan Greenhalgh, Steven (Sue) Boyle, Trudie (Claude) Bouchard, Robert (Monika) Boyle and Shirley Boyle; as well as her many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY () on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
