Obituary of Anne Mary MANNING

February 2, 1929 – Edmonton, Alberta March 3, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Anne Manning (nee Terplawy, formerly Ulveland) of Calgary, Alberta passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the age of 88 years after a brief illness. Anne led a long and active life, growing up in Mountain Park and Northern Alberta which sparked a love of the outdoors. Passions shared were many as she and Doug travelled the world or simply hiked the back country with local clubs or friends. Anne was always proud of her 30 plus years of service with AGT/Telus and leaves behind many dear friends, stories and memories. After the untimely death of her first husband in Kamloops, BC, Anne relocated her young family to Edmonton and eventually to Calgary where she was to meet Douglas and the start of a 32 year marriage that seldom saw the devoted couple apart. Their life together saw many interesting and varied pursuits including hiking, square dancing and travelling the world. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Douglas Manning in 2016 and by her first husband Rocky Ulveland (Axel) in 1968. The last of her generation, our beloved family matriarch, has now sadly followed her sister and brother-in-law, Olga and John Ostashek; her sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Jim Hopkins (Francis Leslie) and her brother and sister-in-law, George and Mary Terplawy. Auntie Anne was also beloved to many nieces and nephews and their children. Anne is survived by her children, Glenn Ulveland (Brenda) and Roxanne Brydges (Martin Goodwin); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
