Obituary of Jean Isabel SMITH

Jean beloved wife of Walter Leslie Smith, of Calgary, AB, passed away surrounded by family on February 17, 2017 at the age of 91 years.
Jean was born July 21, 1925 in Provost, AB. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 1950. She had a long and successful career as a dietician and home economics teacher. Jean was an organist and devoted member of the United Church of Canada. She loved reading, travel, gardening, and jazz.
She was a loving mother to surviving daughters, Kathryn (Jim Annett) of Alvinston, ON, Lucy (Keith Nordstrom) of Rocky Mountain House, AB and Lila (Ed Brown) of Calgary AB; and son James (Laura Majors) of Lakewood, CO; her eight grandchildren, Marie (Bryon Bergsma), Christina, Graham, Barbara, Nathan (Darlene Jackson), Dylan (Melissa Ferguson), Chelsea and Ashton; and her five great-grandchildren Emmitt, Jayden, Shayla, Colton and Peyton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband Walter Leslie Smith, whom she married in 1954; her mother Lila Graham; her father James Black and her brother Robert.
