Obituary of Lana SPREEMAN

August 9, 1955 – Olds, AB November 29, 2016 – Calgary, AB Lana Spreeman, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the age of 61 years. Lana was a 5 time Paralympian (‘80, ‘84, ‘88, ‘92 and ’94), winning 13 medals for Canada in downhill skiing events. It was 10 years ago that she signed up for her first of 3 Iron Man Canada races. Lana owned and operated two massage therapy clinics. There, like every other part of her life, she had a huge impact on her many clients. Lana was fun-loving, quick to laugh at herself, determined, driven, competitive, a helper, generous, caring, and big-hearted. Her level of determination never left her and she remained strong during her 16 month battle with brain cancer. Lana leaves behind her son Dustin and his wife Talia; her grandchildren Jaxson and Chayse; her brothers Ken (Gwen), Doug (Grace), Lauren (Angie); and a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lana was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Alice Spreeman. A Celebration of Lana’s Life will take place at First Assembly Pentecostal Church (6031 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
