Obituary of Deborah Debby Lynn DINSMORE

January 17, 1948 – Thunder Bay, Ontario February 22, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Deborah “Debby” Dinsmore, beloved wife of David Dinsmore of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital, Calgary on Friday, February 22, 2019 at age 71. Debby suffered heart failure after two months of promising cancer treatments. She was especially brave in the face of Leukemia, diagnosed this past December and remained positive throughout. She is gone too soon and is sadly missed by many. Debby was born January 17, 1948, in Thunder Bay, Ontario (then called Port Arthur), to Alfred George and Kathryn Madge Ailey (nee Dillon). She married David in 1971 and lived in London, Winnipeg then Calgary for forty years. Birth of daughter Ingrid in 1975 was her happiest moment. For twenty years she was immersed in the family business, dispatching truck drivers and smoothing the feathers of customers. Later years she happily worked for Penner International Inc. who had been their best customer. Still, she had time for Ingrid’s activities in Girl Guides, softball, swimming and horses. The family pets all adored Debby. Retirement saw them snowbirding in Mesa, Arizona at Silveridge RV Resort. Her habit of collecting friends continued there. She had a bubbly, perky, unassuming personality, only seeing the best qualities in others. She had many ‘Best Friends’ who thought the world of her in return. Some of her favourite times were golf, bridge, movies and dinners with ‘The Girls’. She liked Country music and often sang along in the car. Quiet times were for reading mysteries. Debby had a special place in her heart for nieces, nephews and their children. She gave a lot of love to Luca and Jack, grand-nephews. Surviving family members are husband David; daughter Ingrid Dinsmore (Tim Bennett); sisters, Susan Jerome (Bill) of Thunder Bay and Mesa, Betty-Lou Archer (Robin) of Oakville; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Pugh of St. Joseph Island and Cynthia Ailey of Thunder Bay. She was predeceased by her brother Donald Ailey and her parents. A Celebration of Debby’s life will be held in Mesa, at Silveridge’s Social Hall on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and May 4, 2019 at Calgary’s Lake Bonavista neighborhood’s lake facility meeting room from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Family gatherings in Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie are planned for the summer. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
