Obituary of Beverley Anne HAIGHT

July 23, 1932 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan October 17, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta Beverley Anne Haight passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of October 17, 2016. Beverley was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and grew up in Regina. Beverley and Gordon met at a wedding in September, 1953 and were married during a blinding blizzard in Regina on December 28, 1955. Beverley graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1954 with a degree in Home Economics and spent the following year as a dietician for the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. After their marriage, Beverley spent the following years raising her family and relocating across the country many times, all while supporting Gordon’s career with Imperial Oil. Ultimately, they happily settled in Calgary in 1978. Beverley and Gordon spent the winters of their retirement years in Tucson, Arizona, where they enjoyed continued friendships with fellow Imperial Oil retirees, and cultivated many new friendships with other Canadian and American snowbirds. In addition to the unwavering love Beverley had for her family, she had a passion for playing bridge and also enjoyed gardening, shopping, fashion and entertaining. She loved cheering on the Calgary Flames, the Calgary Stampeders, the Toronto Blue Jays and watching golf. She was humble and warm and had a sharp sense of humour. Beverley faced her increasing health challenges over the last few years with extraordinary grace and dignity. She was very blessed to have had countless strong friendships as was evidenced by the constant flow of visitors and phone calls as her health failed. Beverley will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cheryl; son and daughter-in-law Gordon and Joanne; and granddaughter Keeley all of Calgary; as well as her son-in-law, Barry Craig and grandchildren, Jamie, David and Christie Craig all of Mississauga, Ontario. Beverley was predeceased by her husband, Gordon of fifty-four years and her daughter, Susan Craig.
