Lorna Swanberg of Calgary, beloved wife of Frank for 61 years, passed away peacefully, October 14, 2016 at the Rosedale Hospice, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Lorna was born in Calgary and lived here most of her life with the exception of seven years in Guelph (1988 to 1995). She was a dynamic individual, who loved life. She was an avid curler, bridge player and loved music, having many friends and associates who will remember her fondly. Lorna was an original majorette with the Calgary Stampeders Football team participating in the 1949 Grey Cup in Toronto. She was actively involved in her local community groups and supported her children in their activities.
Lorna is lovingly remembered by her children, Rolf, Patti LaPorte (Dave), Chris (Doris) and Frank (Dawn), 9 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care and support provided to Lorna, by the amazing staff and volunteers of the Rosedale Hospice, the past six months.
