We are saddened to announce the passing of Kirk Morgan. He passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital the morning of October 11, 2016 at the age of 59, after a long, hard fought battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Kirk was born in Calgary and grew up in the community of Parkdale, graduating from Queen Elizabeth High School in 1975. From there, he attended Northeastern University in Boston and the University of Calgary. Kirk worked his entire career in Calgary as a chartered accountant; a career that he absolutely loved. Kirk loved the outdoors and lived an active life, growing up playing hockey, water skiing, hiking the West Coast Trail and traveling to Nepal.
Kirk is survived and will be deeply missed by his sister Valerie Schafer; his brother and his wife, Garth and Janet; his nieces, Michelle Morgan (Jason Van’t Hullenaar) and Erin (Colin) Burns; his nephew Reece Schafer; and two great-nieces Atley and Martie Burns. Kirk was predeceased by his parents Angus and Blanche Morgan and his brother-in-law Roger Schafer.
