Obituary of Karen Margaret CHRISTENSEN
May 15, 1941 – Rosemary, Alberta
August 21, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta
Karen Christensen passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the age of 75 years.
One of Karen’s greatest joys was becoming a grandma, and she loved spending time with her family. Often referred to as the best cook in the world, Karen hosted many gourmet and Danish meals for her friends and family. Karen always put others before herself and had a positive and joyous energy.
She was a caring, loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt and daughter. Karen will be painfully missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends and loved ones.
Karen is survived by her son Allan and his wife Jackie; grand-daughters Mackenna and Zoe Christensen; daughter Tonia Christensen; sisters Kirsten and husband Horst Fandrey, Neala and husband Walter Cook and family; nieces Karen and Christel Fandrey; sister-in-law Merrilyn Martens; nephews Mark and Mared Jacobsen and family; step-siblings Grant and Helen Bodie, Gordon and Heather Bodie, and Glorene and Dave Ellis and all of their families.
Karen was predeceased by her brother Marinus Jacobsen; parents Christian and Katherin Jacobsen; and step-mother Vera Jacobsen.
