Obituary of Florence Agnes Myrtle WARD

June 13, 1937 – Cold Lake, AB August 18, 2016 – Calgary, AB Florence Ward, beloved wife of Roy Ward of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the age of 79 years after a brave battle. Florence had a special role as the nurturer and protector of children. If there was a baby nearby Florence and the baby were drawn to each other like the earth and the moon. Florence was blessed with the gift of care. A gift she gave generously to the many members of her family and friends. Her life purpose was to carve beauty out of connection with others. Mom was an armchair philosopher and loved to discuss big ideas with her children. She built a strong family with her husband Roy Ward. Florence had a special relationship with the month of August bearing three of her children as well as marrying a man born in this month. August 18 fifty-four years ago she gifted the earth with a new life. It was on this day she chose to leave the earth. Florence is survived by her husband Roy Ward; daughters Cynthia Ward, Terry (Ward) Chun, Leanne (Ward) Lengagne, Stacey Ward, Candice Ward; son Robert Ward; granddaughters Alysia (Bodnar) Derrien, Loretta (Bodnar) Geernaert, Heather Harsch, Leeloo Lengagne; grandson Bill Bodnar as well as eight great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Mom, grandma, great grandma – we will miss you.
