Obituary of Jay Javan JOHNSTON

August 12, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta
Jay Javan Johnston “Jay Bear”, of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the age of 36 years.
Jay was born in Prince George on February 23, 1980. He graduated from Sparwood Secondary School and continued his education by receiving his Plumbing, Pipefitter and “A” gas tickets with BCIT. Jay spent time in New Zealand and Australia, playing rugby professionally for the Gold Coast Breakers, as well as playing at home in Canada for the Calgary Saints after returning home to Canada to continue his trade school. Jay was an avid adventurer and was in one place too long, from coast to coast, continent to continent.
Jay is survived by his son Mason Johnston; parents Boyd and Deborah Johnston; sister Shawna Robinson; grandmother Fern Leblond; grandfather Archie Leblond; niece Maddison Robinson; nephew Zachary Robinson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and all of those whose lives have been touched by Jay. All who were lucky enough to know him will carry the experiences and memories.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. . The service will be officiated by Jay’s niece and nephew, Maddison and Zachary Robinson. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
