Obituary of Julia Caroline Julie POLLOCK

November 1, 1931 – Coleman, AB July 17, 2016 – Calgary, AB Julie Pollock passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the age of 84. Born in Coleman, AB, Julie moved at a young age to the family farm near Rimbey, AB with her parents and sisters. She met and married Joe Pollock in 1952 and they settled permanently in Calgary. Julie was a loving and supportive wife and mother who enjoyed cooking, gardening and the great outdoors, with her reputation as a baker spreading far and wide. She loved to make cakes, cookies, and pies to share with her family and friends. Julie worked at Sears, North Hill for many years before her retirement in 1993. Retirement allowed her and Joe time to volunteer at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, and St. Joseph’s Parish where she was a member for 63 years. She also spent much cherished time with her dear grand and great-grand children. Julie will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, as well as her kindness and quiet demeanor. Julie is survived by her daughters Mary (Ray) Perrott, Carol (Gerry) Nell; sons Joe (Diane) and John (Janice); 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Julie was predeceased by her beloved husband Joe; parents Karol and Maria Rozmus; older sister Pauline and twin sister Wilma. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Brentwood Care Centre for their gentle care of Julie, especially in the last week before her passing. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19 Avenue NW) on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19 Avenue NW) on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
