Sara & Taliyah were my neighbors a few years back, I was 9 at the time and my friend was around 7, I remember when we met the two, at first I wasn't sure if we would get along but not long after that, me, my friend, and Taliyah would play outside together all the time. I remember having ice cream and popsicles together often, setting up my speakers so we could dance and play on our front lawns, and having so much fun together. I'm 15 now and i still think about Taliyah and her mom often, it was hard news to comprehend as a child but I miss them all the time. I found this website because I felt curious about it since I denied looking at what happened when I was younger, it hit my heart watching their memorial and watching everyone dance since that was one of my favorite memories with them. condolences to their family, you're all very strong.
I only met sara a few times I loved chillies at the airport she was an amazing woman and was friends of my ex wifes family I cant imagine everything you have gone through and will have to go through my deepest condolences to everyone of you she always made me smile coming home from my job in fort mac and I will never forget all the beautiful things she said to me such a positive and loving person I hope the trial goes fast so your family can finally have closure in this very sad time

Hello. My name is Kevin and I had the pleasure of knowing Sara a few years ago. I used to work in northern Alberta and would have a few hours in Calgary between flights each way while travelling to work. For over a year I spent that time hanging out with Sara at the airport and getting to know her. She was an amazing person with a fantastic personality, that everyone seemed enjoy being around. She always had great stories about Taliyah and you could see the unfaltering love she had for her family, especially Taliyah. I am grateful for being able to get to know her and was floored when I heard the news. I offer my huge condolences to her family and close friends.
All of our heart’s are broken, your loss is huge..until you unite again with their beautiful souls they will be in my prayers.
I never met Sara or Taliyah. But as we all waited and hoped for a better outcome, I heard about what wonderful people they were and saw in photos their beautiful smiling faces, both full of happiness and life. Though I am not family directly, indirectly we are family. I was shocked to hear how Mom Sara was taken from us. Then Taliyah went missing and just as if directly my own and as a child of all of us I went looking through out buildings behind bushes as best that my old body would. The Police found Taliyah and now in a place that is reserved for the virtuous. Sara & Taliyah are in a place of happiness that we can not even imagine. Your tragic loss of Sara and Taliyah is more than the human mind can comprehend and understand. This past week Sara and Taliyah have touched many lives reminding us to treasure each person, relationship, experience and day. It has reinforced to LIVE, LOVE, LAUGHTER; as they did.
We share a similarity my son was born September 1981 and grandson was July 2010 and I cannot imagine life without them in it. We are not supposed to bury our children.

I went to high school with Sara and remember her laughing and joking all the time. She was the most upbeat and positive person I’ve ever known. Her smile was contagious, it was constant and beaming. It makes me angry knowing there are such people out there that can take human lives away in an instant. Edward Downey will pay the price for crimes in due time but what is more important right now is honoring these two beautiful girls & holding on to their cherished memories. This type of thing should never happen; a parent should not have to lose a child and a child should not have to lose a parent before their time; and nobody should have to endure so terrible a tragedy such has befallen all of you.

Rest in God’s arms Sara and Taliyah. God see’s the families pain and suffering in this unjust act of taking two beautiful souls before it was their time to be called home. He will help bear the sorrows for the families.

My mind races and my heart is still broken with the recent loss of my beloved husband. I struggle to come to terms. Even in my darkest hours, I can not begin to imagine your anguish over the loss of these two lovely ladies. It would seem that the entire nation mourns with you. Hold onto one another and keep love in your hearts as much as you can. Love conquers hate. Evidently these two are deeply loved. Peace to all.

Both Sara and Taliyah have been in my thoughts and throughout. I am broken about this and pray for everyone affected by this senseless tragedy. I am sorry for this family’s loss. Two beautiful lives taken in a snap. Eventhough I did not know Sara or Taliyah personally, I am still loss of words. I have daughters myself, so thinking about it feels like a depression on my heart. I am hoping the family receives some type of positive light and closure in the future.

I knew (Sara) for a short time, and Taliyah only from photos, but I will miss the happiness you brought into my life. Your smile was the tip of the friendship you gave to everyone who crossed your path. To lose that love at such a young age is a tragedy, but rest in peace knowing that you have left an indelible mark on everyone who knew you. We are left behind to mourn while the two of you will forever be in each other’s arms, with the same God to comfort you that holds us in His arms at this time of sorrow in our lives.✝
