Obituary of Robert Bob Breckenridge
December 1, 1926 – June 20, 2016
Sadly Bob peacefully passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016. He and his twin brother were born prematurely in General Hospital on December 1, 1926 to Margaret and Bill Breckenridge. Bob attended schools in Bridgeland, graduating from Crescent Heights with honours. Shortly after, he voluntarily signed up with the army infantry division during World War II. Bob had a variety of jobs throughout his lifetime including homesteading in the Peace River. He worked throughout his life in the construction industry as a concrete and earth placement inspector, working across Western Canada, the Maritimes and Jamaica on various dam projects. His final job before retiring was the Oldman River Dam. Bob met Selma Philips, the love of his life, in Sunny Nook, AB while on project. Later they relocated to Nanton until her sudden passing. He was also predeceased by his twin Wallace and his parents. He leaves behind his siblings Eleanor (Jim), Elaine, Bev (Art), Guy (Shirley) and Bryan, numerous nieces and nephews, his best buddy Jim and his beloved cat Zoe.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Special thanks to the staff at Chinook Care Centre.
